Boxes Galore!

In addition to Marshall's birthday last week we all got a big present - our stuff arrived!  So far the only damage has been a couple of couch legs.  Here's what the house looked like last Wednesday.  We are starting to make our way through most of the boxes.
The moving truck!
The kids were awesome for 1.5 hours while the stuff was being unloaded.  They had a snack and "The Wiggles" towards the end.

Reunited with her "pink guitar".  (She regularly asked about it.)
Our living room

The "big" kids room.  The first thing that happened was putting up the "big girl" and "big boy" beds!
Edith's room.  Lots of boxes went in there.
Our room
The spare room
Couch on the back porch.  (Its inside now :))  Also, the legs on the left broke.  It was the only thing damaged from what we've unpacked so far and is already fixed!
The garage from the back.

And from the front.  There wasn't much room to move!
How we all felt about getting our stuff!

Twooo! Twoooo!

Marshall turned 2 on Saturday!!  I really can't believe it, so much has happened in his two short little years.  He had a great day on Saturday waking up and getting his presents from Mommy, Daddy, Edith, and Eleanor.  He got a push/pull wagon and some dinosaur legos.  After everyone got dressed he (and Eleanor) helped make his "chokit" cake and then after a nap he got to talk to MarMar and JonJon and Granny and Grandad.  Later that day he attended a new friend and neighbors 5th birthday party.  While there he had fun playing in the sand box, jumping on the trampoline, and visiting the bunnies.
We planned his party for Sunday because its Daddy's day off and we were already going to a party!  He wanted to go to one of his favorite parks and have "chee" (chicken) nuggets and "cheeps" (chips).  Which he got to do!  Then we came home and dug into his train cake.  (Marshall is very into trains at the moment!  You may have heard him screaming when we have to take his "tain" shirt off. Its torture. :))  Here are some pictures from the celebrations.
Eleanor giving Marshall his presents
"Better check that out!"
"Yep, that was worth it."

Getting into it
Actually, getting into to it :)
Creaming butter and sugar (Note: He's wearing his train shirt and train apron making a train cake.  This kids loves his trains. :))
We were closely supervised.
Best part: Licking the spoon
"Surely, I can find something else to lick"
Finished cake.  Kids mixed, Mommy iced, and Daddy decorated.  Edith supervised!
Looks good
Eleanor playing at the park
Marshall got to go on the big slide.  He also loves slides and definitely needs adult help to get up, so this was his first time since Mommy can't get up with Marshall and Edith. :)  Can you see him at the top?
Having fun
Sorry its blurry!  You gotta be quick around this crowd!

Copycat

We went to the Kingston Flyer over the weekend and took LOTS of pictures and I'm still going through them so hopefully, tomorrow at nap time I will post about that day.  However, I thought I should share these pictures of Marshall.  Today he and Eleanor were playing with dolls and he stopped, hopped up on a chair, and "fed" his baby.  Gotta love it!
I think we'll save these for when he starts dating....:)

Saturday Morning

On Saturday morning Eleanor asked if we could make something that you mix up.  I asked her what she wanted she wanted to mix up and she said, "dots and letters".  A few weeks ago we had a shared morning tea at school (everyone brings a small plate of something to share for a morning snack) and we made homemade soft pretzels.  It was an easy kid friendly recipe.  The kids can help dump everything in the bowl and then play with the dough to make shapes, letters, and whatnot.  Obviously, they liked it since they asked to do it again.  We used this recipe, its super kid friendly and tastes great!!  Here's how it went down in pictures.  (Please excuse the PJ's it was a comfy kind of morning!)
All the ingredients ready to be dumped into the bowl.
Kneading the dough
This is one of their favorite parts.  Eleanor is looking at the camera, I was just at a funny angle.

Working hard.
Ready to rise.

Part of cooking is cleaning up and while your dough is rising is the perfect opportunity!

Risen dough, ready to play with!
This is serious.  What should I make?
Not sure,  better just nibble on it...
Eleanor making "snakes" and letters.
This is an 'n'.
After you shape them you boil them for a few seconds.  This is Eleanor's 4.
Boiled shapes ready for the oven. What letters can you see?
Baking up.
Time to eat!  They like to dip them in ranch.  Eleanor is eating her "e".

"Why yes, that is an "m" on my head!"

We love cooking!
