SHE'S HERE!

Well, after lots of waiting (well, not really, but it seemed like lots of waiting) Eleanor Ruth Hammonds arrived on Sunday June 8th at 6:27 pm. She weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces and was 53 centimeters long. Contractions started Friday night, so that part was long...however, everybody is doing really well. Eleanor is so precious and adorable and... I could go on, but I won't.
After spending 5 days at the Maternity Home (getting spoiled and waiting on) we came home Friday afternoon and Eleanor has settled in really well. She only wakes up once during the night. (Long may this continue!!!) We are still getting spoiled and waited on by Jill, who leaves Monday. Who will cook dinner then???
The plan is to upload photos and show Eleanor off, because she is just so cute, but because we have such a slow internet connection the photos aren't uploading - very frustrating!! However, I'll keep trying...
Success!!

Well I hope the answer to that question was that Andrew took over cooking the dinners, but I suspect that being the very doting father that he is, he might have volunteered to look after the baby while you cooked tea :->>
It was so lovely to spend the week down there with you all, and especially to have that very early hold of Eleanor when she was a few hours old. I know I'm a biased granny, but she's definitely one of the best. She looks strong and very knowing - like Andrew at that age she seems to like to be up and part of the party in the daytime quite a bit, but sleeps so well at night that you can forgive her that - in fact you're probably very pleased to have the chance for the cuddles and to take her out walking with you in the bush etc.
I'm looking forward to Thursday when we will once again all be together for about 10 days before you leave for Kentucky. I know Jim is looking forward to meeting her too.
Love,
Granny Hammonds
